American Indian Shelter Content Challenges

This week, scholars continued to research several past American Indian tribes in Texas with a special interest in learning more about the tribes' shelter structures. Students completed content challenges using wooden dowels and straws & connectors, helping them to understand how American Indians designed their tepees, dome shaped shelters, such as wickiups, and grass shelters. They then reflected on their learning, including what material(s) they would need to improve their shelters and how it would help.
